Abstract
Come and learn how to use program learning assessment to reflect on your own course design and scholarship in teaching and learning. The facilitator will introduce powerful program learning assessment tools such as student learning outcomes, the curriculum map, signature assignments, and rubrics. Through interactive activities and discussions, participants will reflect on and investigate how their courses contribute to the program's quality and coherence. The facilitator will also provide sample language and organize discussions on ways to describe one's reflective teaching and assessment-related scholarship endeavors to professional communities, including personnel review committees. The participants will leave with strategies to use program learning assessment in a way that is personally relevant and professionally beneficial. This beginning level workshop is designed for all instructional faculty and staff members and graduate teaching assistants.
