Title: Gaak'iy ngea Gamanmaan nu Waqab (‘Plants and animals of Yap’). A Yapese-language vernacular reader developed under various bilingual education projects for Micronesia. Printed in 1978 by Media Production, Northern Marianas Department of Education, Saipan, Northern Marianas Islands; written by Ignathio Fithingmew; illustrated by Robert Fithing. This book was developed pursuant to a grant from the U.S. Office of Education, Department of Health, Education and Welfare. Credits: Ganong for writing some descriptions; John Iou for preliminary transcription into the standard spelling system; John Jensen and Gilnifrad Lukubyad for final proofreading for spelling; Clotilda Ilyaw for typing the many drafts of the book; Jean Kirschenmann for layout and assembly; Bethel Oestman for the original idea. Contents: Plants (pp. 1-41), Animals (pp. 43-71). Contains high and low resolution JPGs and high and low resolution PDFs.
