|Abstract:||Brief excerpt from interview: I was interested in the place-based studies, but also the connection with sustainability. I'm from a small, ten-man town in Montana. I grew up on the land, very self-sustained on the land. When I moved to Hawaiʻi, it was such a shift for me to have to buy groceries from the store... [Hawaiʻi] is the perfect place for sustainability. So self-contained.|
