Abstract
As Heide & Cook, Ltd. reaches its 50th anniversary, it will undergo massive organizational changes. The current owners, the Heide family, will sell all their interests in the business to several key executives within the company. This thesis will attempt to analyze several buyout options, identify any problems, determine the best strategy, and project keys for the future success of Heide & Cook. After 50 years of service in Hawaii, this mechanical contracting company faces a new challenges. These challenges will evolve under new ownership, passing from the Heide family to three managers of Heide & Cook on December 1, 1996. The goal of the new management team is to maintain and preserve the company's quality reputation while growing for the future. They plan to attain this goal with a 5 year strategic plan consisting of moderate and controlled improvements, tied with growth in all areas of business. Specializing in sheet metal, commercial air conditioning (service and construction), and plumbing, Heide & Cook seeks continued success and profitability within their niche market. The company foresees increased growth in both profit and sales through steady change and improved efficiencies.
