Abstract
The Water Resources Research Center, since its creation in 1964, has focused its research thrust in existing and emerging water problems in Hawaii. It is the only state agency exclusively devoted to water resources research. Its prime objective has been to provide knowledge of water resources, water requirements, and methods of water utilization through research and.associated instructional, informational, and advisory activities. The 64 research projects, which have been completed or are in progress, cover the whole water research range: water cycle, water supply, water quality, water planning methods, economics and institution, and information dissemination. Through numerous grants and contracts or special and free counseling, the Center has served requests from major state and local public water agencies and private corporations.
