dc.description.abstract	Using legends and history, the origin of Colocasia taro on Pohnpei is examined, and its importance culturally and nutritionally is summarized. The most common method of growing taro, integration into the traditional agroforestry system, is described, and a summary of future research needs for Colocasia taro is presented.	en_US
