Abstract
There are several objectives that this thesis production has hoped to achieve. Besides directing ex perience which comes only by "doing" a production and presenting good theatre, the show was geared in a feminist sense although its audience appeal was for wom en and men alike. Several factors were to impress the audience. There is a need for more dramatists - women and men- to express the "unique female experience". There is a need for active women's theatre proven by the popularity of the performances. Because of the lack of good and varied roles for actresses -an argu ment borne out by such greats as Katharine Hepburn and in fact by any actress who seeks to gain a foot- hold in the profession- a company of women-actresses, musicians, technicians and a director was formed.
