Abstract: The digestive system in anenically grown P. caudatum has been shown to consist of at least four processes: a) the digestive vacuole (DV) formation and release from the oral region, b) DV acidification-condensation, c) lysome fusion with the condensed and most acidic DCs followed by digestion, and d) DC egestion.
