Abstract: Lead is a compound not normally found in any quantity in the environment. There are, of course, notable exceptions such as areas around lead mines. In these areas the ecosystem is affected quite dramatically. The plants display a low vitality but some varieties have adapted to that unique situation (Bradshaw, N. A., 1970).
