Abstract
This research intended to identify EFL learners’ difficulties in listening comprehension, and explore strategies they use to overcome such difficulties. By replicating Hasan’s (2000) study, this survey questionnaire identified that many problems in L2 listening are related to affects such as the lack of interest in the listening material and anxiety as well as other external factors including the speed of listening and quality of recordin. Also, it was found that these learners are poorly equipped with effective strategies and skills that help to enhance their listening comprehension ability. This study hopes to raise teachers' awareness on the problems so that teachers can help students adopt appropriate strategies to overcome the problems.
