    Celebrating 25 Years of Philippine Studies in Hawaii

    Authors recount what has become of Philippine studies at the University of Hawaii at Manoa after 25 years. Studying in paradise, they say, enable students wanting to know Filipino heritage to work with first-rate instructional faculty, avail of rich library resources and take courses in languages (Ilokano/Tagalog), history, and others. The authors also note the increasing number of Filipino-American students at the university over the years, from about 3 percent in the '70s to as high as 25 percent in some campuses three decades later.
