Abstract:	This contribution deals strictly with the genus Psychotria as it exists in the Hawaiian Archipelago. It reviews the taxonomic history, characters of taxonomic significance, and phylogeny of Psychotria in Hawaii. It includes a key to the two sections Straussia and Pelagomapouria. This section is followed by keys to and discussions of the species within each section.
