SPECIMENS EXAMINED: File: Birch_Asteliaspecimens_18aug11.txt 2. MORPHOLOGICAL DATA: File: Birch_Asteliamorph_18aug11.csv Data Description: Comma-separated values text file containing morphological data for Hawaiian Astelia taxa in Astelia subgenus Asteliopsis section Periastelia (Skottsberg 1934). Data collected from herbarium specimens provided on loan to the Joseph F. Rock Herbarium (HAW) from the following herbaria: Auckland War Memorial Museum (AK), Herbarium Pacificum (BISH), Allan Herbarium (CHR), Harvard University (GH), Kew Royal Botanic Gardens (K), National Herbarium of Victoria (MEL), Missouri Botanical Garden (MO), Herbier National de Paris (P), United States National Herbarium (US), and Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa (WELT). Specimens examined are documented in the file "Birch_specimens_18aug11.txt". Data collection protocols are provided in chapter 3 of the dissertation. Morphological characters are listed in the first row and the Astelia taxon in the first collumn. Characters present in both staminate (pollen producing) and pistillate (ovule producing) plants span two columns; the first column contains values for staminate plants (e.g., LF2S) the second column contains values for pistillate plants (e.g., LF2P). Characters found in only staminate or pistillate plants are provided in a single column. The dataset includes continuous and discrete characters. All values for continuous characters are given in millimeters (mm). COLUMN HEADINGS: 1 - TAXON: Species or morphotype as determined by J.
